Creative writing : Metrical and Lyrical Poetry (Padyam and Geyam) (Telugu)
A Spiritual Journey through Music and Meaning
Overview
This course introduces students to the rich traditions of Telugu poetic forms—Padyam (metrical verse) and Geyam (lyrical verse). Through guided writing sessions and close reading of classical examples, learners will develop the skills to craft original poetry that balances structure with emotional expression. Emphasis will be placed on mastering poetic meters, enhancing vocabulary, and transforming personal reflections into artistic compositions.
Creative writing involves a thoughtful process of ideation, expression, and refinement, where the poet bears a responsibility to engage readers and society with honesty, insight, and impact, while pursuing a meaningful objective through purposeful artistic action.
