Masters in Hindustani Music Objective

Master of Arts in Hindustani Music will provide a comprehensive and incremental approach to the theoretical language of music, supported by finer nuance to practical performance.

Theoretical musical knowledge enhances and supports the student’s practical studies. At the end of this program students will be well equipped in all aspects that are important in the study of Hindustani music to take on higher educational and creative opportunities.

The M.A. in Hindustani Music at Aria University is a two-year postgraduate program designed for students seeking advanced knowledge and professional training in vocal or instrumental Hindustani classical music. The program blends traditional guru-shishya parampara (teacher-student lineage) with modern pedagogy, enabling students to refine their technique, engage in research, and explore performance, composition, and musicology. With masterclasses by eminent artists, global collaborations, and performance-based learning, students graduate prepared for careers as performers, educators, and scholars.
