Creative Scholar

Prof. Rani Sadasiva Murthy is the Vice Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Tirupati, and a multilingual, multidisciplinary scholar with postgraduate degrees in Sanskrit, English, Philosophy, Advaita Vedanta, Jyotisha, and Management, and a Ph.D. in Sanskrit. He has served in key roles including Dean of Academic Affairs and Director of Cultural Affairs at NSU, Tirupati.

Under his guidance, he has mentored 27 Ph.D., 26 M.Phil., and multiple postdoctoral scholars. He has authored over 55 books, edited 12 volumes, and published 80 research papers and 250 articles.

A member of several academic bodies worldwide, he has led major national projects such as The Mahabharata Project and produced audio-visual and digital archives of rare Sanskrit texts. He has also created poetry, dance ballets, and a Sanskrit film (Hidimba-Bhimasenam), and delivered hundreds of discourses in India and abroad.

His awards include the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award (2016), Prajna Bhaskara (2010), and Vyas Bharati (2007), among others.
