Diploma in Kuchipudi Dance
Where tradition meets innovation.
Objective
The Diploma program seeks to instill both practical and theoretical knowledge in Kuchipudi dance repertoire. Students will learn complex movement phrases in different rhythmic measures, to gain expertise and proficiency to perform challenging aspects in Kuchipudi dance.
- Learn the core techniques, adavus (steps), and expressions of Kuchipudi.
- Study the history, evolution, and traditional compositions of Kuchipudi.
- Learn under the guidance of experienced gurus and practitioners.
- Earn a recognized diploma that opens pathways to further study.
Requirements
- Duration: Two-year program (2 semesters per year)
- Required Units: 15 credit units
- Required Courses: Total of 5 courses (4 core mandatory and 1 elective)
General Admission Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Practical dance training of at least 2 years

A Student enrolled in this Program could be evaluated using the following methods/metrics (Assessment could be a combination of a written and/or a practical performance demonstration) depending on the Course :
- Quiz : Two submissions during the Semester.
- Assignment : Two submissions during the Semester.
- Midterm Exam : During the mid-Semester Week.
- Final Exam : End of the Semester.
Students will be awarded a Diploma in Kuchipudi Dance, on the successful completion of all the required courses, with an overall combined GPA of 2.0 or higher, based on the evaluation weightage across the various Methods/Metrics.

Estimated Program Costs: $6,000.00 including Tuition ($5,400.00), Application Fee, Books, Registration Fees, etc.
