Overview

Odissi is one of the oldest and most graceful classical dance forms of India, originating from the temples of Odisha. Known for its lyrical movements, sculptural poses, and deeply expressive storytelling, Odissi beautifully blends devotion, music, rhythm, and emotion.

This introductory course offers a gateway into the enchanting world of Odissi, exploring its rich history, fundamental techniques, and spiritual roots. Students will learn the basic postures (bhangas), hand gestures (mudras), and movement vocabulary, along with an understanding of the dance’s devotional and narrative elements.
